Beginner Sewing Machine Workshop (in English)
Are you new to sewing and would love to finally get to know your sewing machine better?
Maybe your machine is still waiting in the closet because you’re not quite sure where to start?
Then this workshop is perfect for you!
••• This workshop is held in English. Of course it is available in German on other dates, too. •••
What we’ll do:
We’ll take a relaxed look at how your sewing machine works and how to set it up correctly.
What stitches does it have and what are they used for?
We’ll practice threading the machine and winding the bobbin, and you’ll get familiar with a few helpful technical terms.
We’ll also talk about what to do when the machine isn’t cooperating and how to solve common problems.
Then we’ll try out different stitches and take a look at the accessories, as well as various fabrics, threads, and needles.
And best of all: we’ll usually have time to sew one or two small projects that you can take home with you (e.g. a garland, little bag, utensil holder, scrunchie, etc.)!
Date & time: Mon, January 19th 2026, 17.30–13.30 Uhr
Level: for beginners from 14 years on. You don’t need any previous experience – just the wish to finally start sewing!
Group size: max. 6 people
What to bring:
It’s most helpful to use your own sewing machine in this workshop.
If you have one, please bring your sewing machine (including cable and foot pedal), the manual/instructions, some sewing thread, and suitable sewing machine needles.
If getting to our studio with your machine is difficult, of course we also have sewing machines available to borrow.
All fabrics and other materials will be provided.
A small note:
Please don’t bring a machine that is broken, as we won’t have the time or expertise to repair it during the workshop.
If your machine is just slightly out of adjustment, that’s usually not a problem.
Thank you for checking beforehand that your sewing machine is working properly.
If you have any questions, feel free to send me an e-Mail! 🙂
I look forward to sewing with you!
